Chancellor “Chance” David Smith, age 23, was taken too soon from this life, Sunday, November 6, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 15, 1993 in Muncie, Indiana.
Chance was raised a gentleman and was extremely polite to women. He was very willing to help the elderly and was liked and had many, many friends. He was an avid skateboarder and musician. He was a very talented musician and especially enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo but could play any musical instrument. Chance also loved animals of all kinds.
Survivors include his parents, Tanene (Ted) Erb of New Castle and Charles Smith of New Caslte; siblings, Tanisha Wallace of Muncie, Chealee Erb of New Castle, Jennifer (Justin) Goodman of Morristown; maternal grandparents, Tyrone (Susie) Jester of Panacea, FL; maternal grandmother, Teresa Jester of New Castle; paternal grandmother, Joy Humbert of New Castle; maternal great grandmother, Samatha “Mae” Moore of TN; step grandmother, Theresa Agee of New Castle; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by maternal great grandparents, Jack and Marcella Jester; maternal great grandparents, Manuel and Bonnie Smith; stepmother, Anita Smith; maternal grandmother, Joyce Jester; special aunt, Evelyn Lee; paternal grandfather, Myron Humbert of New Castle.
Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Dick Webster officiating.
