Ada Pfenninger Marcum, 91, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at The Willows of New Castle surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Alfred and Hassel Pfenninger on January 2, 1932.
She is survived by her six children, Candi (Gary) Butler of Phoenix, Arizonia, Linda (Jack) Imel, Susan (Steve) Owens, Jack Marcum, Tony (Gina) Marcum and Jeff (Nancy) Marcum, all of New Castle; sixteen grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Wanda Pfenninger of New Castle; brother-in-law, Gary Marcum of New Castle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Marcum, Sr.; granddaughter, Jennifer Butler; great grandchildren, Olivia Wright, Elijah Wright; eight siblings, Elmer Pfenninger, Walter Pfenninger, Alvis Pfenninger, Barney Pfenninger, Frank Pfenninger, Lena Simmons Dewitt, Doris Tipton and Leona Lines Wisecup.
Ada was cofounder of Jack’s Donut Shop along with her husband Jack Sr. She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church, P.E.O. and enjoyed watching her grandchildren and their activities.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Cindy Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your charity of the donor’s choice.
