Alma Faye Ward, 92, of Hagerstown, passed away at Addison Place in New Castle on December 29, 2023. She was born on December 24, 1931, in Yosemite, Kentucky to the late Ulyes E. Goforth and Loanna M. (Hamilton) Denny.
On June 9, 1948, Faye married the love of her life Conwell Ward Jr. and they were blessed with 75 years of marriage. She lived most of her adult life in Hagerstown. Faye retired from Perfect Circle (Dana Corp) in Hagerstown after many years of service.
Faye attended churches in Hagerstown and New Castle and most recently attended Chicago Corner Church.
She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially for family get togethers and holidays. Faye loved boating and camping trips with family, birdwatching, gardening and gospel music. She also enjoyed animals and had a special fondness for their Yorkshire Terrier “Tommy”.
Faye is survived by her husband, Conwell Ward Jr.; son, Ron (Phyllis) Ward of DeSoto, Missouri; daughter, Deborah (John) Clarke of Bentonville, Indiana; sister, Ruby (Tim) Lewis of Spiceland; grandchildren, Corey Ward of St. Louis, Missouri, Jeremy (Keri) Ward of Festus, Missouri and Rebecca Ward of Knoxville, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Emily Ward, Madelyn Ward, Cody Ward and Victoria Ward; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her stepfather, James M. Denny; sister, Leslee (Denny) Farno and infant sister, Anna Goforth.
Faye’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Addison Place and AseraCare Hospice for their exceptional care.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday January 4, 2024, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday January 5, 2024, with Pastor Jerry Ingalls officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound West Lawn addition.
