Anna “Sherry” Poe, 60, went to be with the Lord May 14, 2017 at Indiana University Methodist Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born February 19, 1957 in New Castle to the late Floyd “Gene” and Clara (Gregory) Criswell.
She worked in the cafeteria at Chrysler Corp. in New Castle, and afterwards was a homemaker for many years. She was a member of the New Salem United Baptist Church in New Castle.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, William “Larry” Poe, daughter, Amber (Jason) Marcum Motsinger of New Castle, three step-children, Diana (Tom) Brown of New Castle; Tammy Wagner of New Castle and Brandon (Megan) Poe of Strasburg, VA; two grandchildren, Skyler and Dakota Motsinger, five step-grandchildren, Tyler Brown, Kyle Brown, Britney Poe, Zachary Poe and Dylan Wagner, three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Kayden, and Hannah Poe, all of New Castle; brother, Brian E. Criswell of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Bradley Scott Criswell and his wife Robin Criswell, both of New Castle, and her in-laws, Lyle and Mary Poe.
Sherry’s family would like to give a special thank you to Kristy Lee, a home health aid from Bethany Cares, who took such great care of Sherry.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Brett Rains officiating.
