Barbara Allen Beatty, 87, of New Castle passed away Friday, December 27, 2019 at Henry Community Health after several years of declining health. She was born May 9, 1932 in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky to the late Elbert Corthorn and Anna Mae Rodgers.
Barbara worked at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in housekeeping for 28 years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling and flower gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Earl Beatty; children, Geneva (Oscar) Overton of Lexington, KY, Yolonda (Patrick) Hoover of Las Vegas, NV, Dennis (Susan) Beatty of Selma; Michael and Joyce Ford; grandchildren, Kiley Ball, Travis (Amy) Overton, Carl Ryan (Krista) Overton, Ryan (Brandon) Curtis, Harley Makayla Beatty and Matthew Beatty; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Elaine Ball; grandson, Brandon Duncan; and a sister, Laverne Walter.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 3 at the funeral home with her son in law, Oscar Overton officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
