Barbara Ann Stover, 89, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at her home. She was born November 28, 1928 in Bedford, IN to the late Glen and Eva Marie (Holmes) Byers.
She was a member of the South Memorial Drive Church of God where she had taught Sunday school to various ages for many years. Barbara had served on various boards and had been a choir member. Barbara was famous for her delicious homemade pies and noodles.
She is survived by four daughters: Sharon Kay (Richard) Wittbold of New Castle, Shirley Ann Dobbs of New Castle, Paula Diane (Steve) Snodgress of Johnstown, CO and Connie Lynn (Paul) Davis of New Castle; fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Paul Edward Stover whom she married June 30, 1946; a son, Paul David Stover, four brothers, Don Byers, Dean Byers, Kay Byers and Phil Byers, sister, Susan Byers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at South Memorial Drive Church of God with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Monday, January 15th at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
