Billy Wayne Evans

Billy Wayne Evans, 72, of New Castle, peacefully entered his eternal rest on Monday, January 22, 2024. Born on February 7, 1951, in New Castle to the late Fred and Mary (Huddleston) Evans.

Billy, a proud member of the 1st Air Cavalry Division, dedicated four years of service to the United States Army during the Vietnam War, from 1968 to 1972. He spent his career working in various automotive factories in the New Castle area.

Above all, Billy cherished moments spent with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie (Perdue) Evans; son, Brad Evans of New Castle; daughter, Dara Evans, and her husband Kyle French of Berea, KY; son, John and his wife Allyssa (Supinger) Evans of New Castle. His grandchildren, Dominic, Sawyer, Atticus, Oscar, Allyster, Zebulon, and May, brought him immense joy. Billy is also survived by his brother, Jim (wife Florence) Evans of Maryville, Washington, and numerous nieces and nephews, some of whom were like siblings to him. He is fondly remembered by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Doug and Susan Perdue of Clarksville, Maryland, and Dennis and Diane York of New Castle. Nieces and nephews, Danielle Rainey, Joshua Perdue, and David Perdue, along with their families, mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his sister Lois Teague, and his brothers: Morris, Donald, Hollis, Norman, and David Evans.

The family expresses gratitude to Paradigm Hospice and Henry County ER, especially Nurse Amy, for their compassionate care. Special thanks also go to Billy’s caretaker and friend for the last six months, Goldie Claar.

Services to celebrate Billy’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Services, with burial following at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
