Billy J. Waldroff, 83, of Shirley passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at Brandywine Care Center in Greenfield. He was born on February 26, 1940 in London, KY a son of the late Willie Waldroff and Virgelene (Vaughn) Allen.
Billy was known to be a very loving and giving man, who loved to make people laugh, play pranks and was a little flirtatious; he liked to make women feel good about themselves. Billy was retired from Westvaco in Indianapolis and served his country in the Army National Guard. He enjoyed collecting Coca Cola memorabilia and was a fan of Duck Dynasty. Over the years, Billy attended the Crossroads Church in New Castle.
Billy is survived by his wife of 28 years, Bessie Mae (Cooper) Waldroff of Shirley; children, Debra McCauley of Indianapolis, Karen (Danny) Breese of Knightstown, Gerilee (Shawn) Jenkins of McCordsville, Billy Waldroff of Greenfield; son-in-law, Keith Christopher of Sheridan; grandchildren, Angela Shipley, Rachel Inman, John (Sara) Love, Kelli Houchins, Brent (Abby) Patrick, Ronnie L. (Kayleigh) Patrick, Sabrina Ebeyer, Sean (Kelsey) Allee, Codey (Katey) Jenkins, Courtney (Andrew) Jenkins, Isabella (Logan) Jenkins, Ian Jenkins, Casey (Kyle) Brown, Carmen (Zach) Bowling, Morgan (Anthony) Huffman, Kasey Noel, Bradley McCauley, Ryan McCauley and Jacob McCauley; 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; sisters, Nadene Cheek and Sabrina England.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his father since the age of 2, John Earl Allen; children, Denise Waldroff, Teresa Christopher, Frank Clem and Tina M. Adams; granddaughter, Debbie Gadberry; great granddaughter, Avalyn Joy Ebeyer; sisters, Mellie Sue Whitworth and Anna Jane Cunnigan.
Services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown with Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery.
