Charles E “Chuck” Fox, 69, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on August 19, 1953 in Rushville, Indiana to the late Clarence Leon Fox and Beulah Pearl (Plank) Hollinger.
A veteran of the United States Navy, Chuck served his country during the Vietnam Era from December 20, 1970 through January 9, 1975. He was self-employed as a painter. He also worked at Nu-turn Corporation, Main and Frame Funeral Home and Oney Funeral Home in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Chuck was a member of Cornerstone Church where he sang and played the guitar. He loved riding his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle, and his dog Gizmo. Chuck was truly a tender, caring individual who never met a stranger. He always put others' needs ahead of his own.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews and former wife, Launa Fox.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings; Sharon Manning, Beverly Dalton, Larry Specht and Becky Helton.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 5:00 pm at Cornerstone Church in New Castle with Pastor Phil Miles officiating. Military honors will be conducted by contingents from the New Castle American Legion, VFW and U.S. Navy. Private burial will take place at Dunreith Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until time of service on Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to any cancer fund in Chuck's name.
