Connie Leann Pate

Connie Leann Pate, 67, of New Castle passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 30, 1955 in New Castle, the daughter of the late Lemuel L. and Emogene I. (Kern) Pate.

A 1974 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Connie was a longtime member of Cadiz Christian Church. An avid reader, especially mysteries by James Patterson, she had a large library that she enjoyed. She loved animals, children, and had many friends in the community.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her aunt and uncle, Jackie and Tom Eversole of New Castle and many cousins, who she was close to.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel and Emogene Pate; her brother, Tony Pate, and a son, Cody Ryne Smith in 1992.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023 at South Mound Cemetery with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society/Animal Shelter, 11 Midway Dr., New Castle, IN 47362.
