Dallas Ray Denney, 68, of Cambridge City, passed away Monday, July 31, 2023 at his home following an extended illness. He was born January 25, 1955 in Muncie, a son of the late Arvin Ray and Opal Viola (Reno) Denney.
Dallas graduated from Ivy Tech with a degree in Heating and Air Conditioning. He worked at Chrysler Corp. in New Castle until the plant closed, then retired from the foundry and transmission plant in Kokomo.
A musician and songwriter, some of Dallas’ music was broadcast on Veterans Radio. He enjoyed playing guitar and recording his music, which will always be coveted by his family. An animal lover, Dallas also enjoyed fishing and enjoyed the outdoors.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 52 years, Ruth (Baldock) Denney of Cambridge City; sons, Jason Lane Denney (Angela Smith) of Cambridge City, and Dallas Franklin “Frank” Denney of New Castle; granddaughter, Mikylah Jadee Denney (Tyler Ashburner) of Olympia, WA; granddaughter, Shelby Gadd; two brothers, Lyle (Sharonda) Denney of Nashville, IN, and Jeffrey (Bridgett ) Denney of Monticello, KY; brothers in law, Gene Baldock of New Castle and Rick (Becky) Baldock of Mt. Summit; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Annetta Neal and Patty Carter.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday at Hinsey-Brown. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at
