David "Dave" Campton

David “Dave” Campton, 69, of Shirley, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born October 3, 1953 in Indianapolis, the son of Ora and Ruth (Lamon) Campton.
Dave retired from Elbrecht Concrete in Tipton in 2017 after 10 years of service. He had previously worked at Greenfield Builders for 30 years. Dave was a singer with the Primevil Band for several years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, splitting wood and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by a son, Rusty (Atysha) Campton of Knightstown; four daughters, Jodie Theis (Jeremiah Goad) of New Castle, Lisabeth Campton of Shirley, Lauren Lucas (Larry Hatt) of Shirley and Leah Lucas of Knightstown; grandchildren, Austin Campton, Alissa Campton, Tristan Theis, Camren Theis and Raylea Richey and a brother, Joe Campton of Greenfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Campton.
Per Dave’s wishes, there will be no public services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Memorial contribution may be made to the David Campton Memorial Fund by clicking here .
