David Lee "Dave" Lance

David Lee “Dave” Lance, 63, a resident of New Castle passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. He was born September 29, 1959 in White Cloud Michigan to the late Lorin D. and Phyllis E. (Barnhard) Lance.

A graduate of White Cloud High School, he earned an Associate’s Degree from Ivy Tech in Muncie. Dave served with the U.S. Marine Corps and was employed at Crown Corp. in New Castle. He had also worked at Metaldyne and Chrysler Corps. in New Castle. Dave was a former member of the Knights of Pythias and attended the White Branch Church. He enjoyed bowling in several leagues, woodworking and reading. Dave loved spending holidays and traveling with his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years: Lisa (Kendall) Lance, whom he married December 9, 1989; a son: Johnathan Lance of New Castle; a step-daughter: Autumn (Jason) Price of New Castle; two grandchildren: Jalen Price and Alexa Lance; a brother: Larry (Valerie) Lance of Texas and a sister: Kim (Cecil) Harp of Texas; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Kathy Flores and a brother: Lorin Lance.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Brian Mackie officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Military rites will be provided by a contingency of the U.S. Marines, American Legion and the VFW.
