David Rhodes

David Rhodes, 73, of New Castle passed away March 12, 2019 at his home. He was born October 6, 1945 in Illinois to the late Dallas and Barbara (Schaller) Rhodes.

He was an over the road semi truck driver for many years and worked at Pizza Hut for many years. David was also a limo and cab driver in Hobart, IN before moving to New Castle in 2003. He worked at Pizza Hut in New Castle and was involved with many aspects of the Foresters division out of Kankakee, IL including president of the section. Spending time with family and friends were most important to David although he also enjoyed bowling, camping and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Macak) Rhodes of New Castle; children, Dallas (Amber) Rhodes of Danforth, IL, Leighton (Christina) Rhodes of Merrillville, IN and Doree (Andrew) Maisonneuve of Bourbonnais, IL; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother, Joe (Marcia) Rhodes of Spring Hill, FL; sister, Nancy (William) Scanlan of LaPorte, IN; numerous kids whom he was a “second father and grandfather” to for many years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Rhodes.

Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Joel Johnston officiating. Inurnment will take place at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be sent to Riley Children’s Hospital, 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
