Dennis Dale Holt, 61, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was born November 21, 1954, a son of Dempsey R. and Helen L. Holt.
A 1973 graduate of Western High School in Russiaville, Dennis was employed as a high voltage maintenance specialist at Public Service Indiana (now Duke Energy) for over 23 years, until going on disability. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and also the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.). An avid fisherman, Dennis loved southern Indiana, where he resided for 17 years, and had also served as the secretary/treasurer of the White Oak Lake Association.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 31 years, Joan (Cronk) Holt, of New Castle; two daughters, Kelsie Holt of Bloomington, and Kaycie Holt of New Castle; his mother, Helen Holt of Kokomo; two sisters, Debbie (Jim) Statzell of Fairfield Glades, TN, and Dana Holt of Kokomo; a brother, Dave (Susan) Holt of Kokomo; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dempsey Holt, and his grandparents.
A celebration of life service will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with David Brock officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
