Diane (Grigsby) York, 61, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Henry Community Health following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 31, 1957 in New Castle to the late James and Lena (Puckett) Grigsby.
A 1975 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, she had been employed in the Accounting Department at Henry Community Health since 1999. She attended Church 52 in Indianapolis. She loved to sing, especially in church choirs. A sports enthusiast, she was an avid IU basketball and Colts fan.
Her family was her hobby. She and over 30 family members vacationed together for many years in Seacrest, Florida. That was her happy place. She also loved her many friends who filled many days with happiness.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Dan York of New Castle, whom she married May 16, 1987; three children, Kim (Chris) Brannon of Selma, Chris (Tonya) York of Indianapolis, and Katie (Ty) Childers of Bloomington; grandchildren, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Parker James, Ellistyn Kate, and Macklin; her siblings, Sandra (Phillip) Meade of Noblesville, Mike Grigsby of Fort Worth, TX, Linda DeHamer of Des Moines, IA, Vickie (Greg) House of New Castle, Ty (Dr.Tom) Worster of Bloomington and Brenda (Don) Sparks of New Castle; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. James and Lena Grigsby.
Visitation will be from 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service and the funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverends Phillip and Perry Meade officiating.
