Dona May Finney

January 24, 1960 — February 18, 2024

Dona May Finney, 64, of New Castle passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at her home. She was born January 24, 1960 in New Castle to the late Charles and Dona May (Kendall) Wilkinson.

A 1978 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Dona was employed as a cake decorator at Dairy Queen for many years. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army where she served in Germany. Dona loved traveling and had been to Kentucky, Louisiana, Ohio and Florida as well as Texas to visit extended family. As a youth and early adult, she was active at Temple Baptist Church in New Castle. Dona enjoyed playing BINGO, cross stitching, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and DIY projects helping around the house. She was very active in the Agent Orange Memorial Project, in Springfield, TN.

She is survived by a son, Mike Finney of New Castle; siblings, Phillip (Marcella) Kissinger of Cocoa Beach, FL, George Wilkinson of New Castle, Floyd (Linda) Wilkinson, Ronnie Wilkinson, Terry Wilkinson, Chuck Wilkinson (Sally Lowe), all of New Castle and Mary McCorkhill of Middletown; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; along with many “bonus” grandchildren and family members.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Eugene Finney; sister-in-law, Rita Wilkinson, mother and father-in-law; Verna Lee and Derwood Minnick; brother-in-law, Jeff McCorkhill and nephew, Randall Lee Wilkinson.

The family would like to thank Dr. Johathan Berkowitz, Annaleah Sizemore, Linda and Jim Cross, Lisa and Autumn Lance, Margie Gregorio and her family, Floyd and Linda Wilkinson, David and Linda Gail Finney, Angie, Teresa and Heart to Heart Hospice.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Eric Haler officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:30 until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Orange Heart Medal Foundation, 13833 Owens Chapel Road, Springfield, TN 37172.
