Donna Mae Antic

Donna Mae Antic, 87, a resident of New Castle passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Community Hospital North. She was born on October 1, 1936 in Mooreland to the late Byron Sylvester and Leona Beatrice (McCoy) Brown.

Donna grew up on a farm and was a 1954 graduate of Mooreland High School where she was a drummer in the band, cheerleader and sang in the chorus. She retired from Wilbur Wright Elementary School as a teachers aid in 2014 after 35 years of service. Donna was an active member of St. Anne Catholic Church and served as athletic director for St. Anne Catholic School for several years. She was director of the Girls Little League Youth Softball program where she coached softball and was a parent volunteer. She was also a member of the Trojan Booster Club. Donna was always the first to volunteer, first to show up and always ready to lend a helping hand. Her hobbies included fishing, gardening and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves to cherish her memory to her children, Joyce (Jeff) Dickerson of Indianapolis, Lori (Tamika) Antic of Indianapolis, Krista (Brian) Curless of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Scott (Tracie) Antic of Mooresville, Larry (Brenda) Antic of Greenfield and Valerie (Ian) Good of O’ Fallen, Missouri; grandchildren, Ashley, Erica, Jordan, Tyler, Ava, Micah, Adalie, Elly, Max, Lily and Makayla; great grandson, Kayson; a brother: Milton (Linda) Brown of Mooreland; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Robert Paul Antic; a brother: Jerry (Lenora) Brown.

Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Father John Hall officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anne Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, 102 North 19th Street, New Castle, Indiana 47362.
