Doyle Mix

Doyle Mix, 64, of New Castle passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at his residence. He was born September 7, 1958 in New Castle to the late Tom and Gladys (Sosby) Mix.

He worked many years for the carnival then for 11 years at Henry County Memorial Hospital. Whatever the task was that Doyle was working on, he always put 110% forth until it was completed. Doyle was an avid reader, loved movies and talking politics. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by a son, James (Zoe) Mix of Chicago; special niece, Cara (Travis) Collier; brothers, Richard (Robin) Neal, Jack (Jamie) Mix and Curtis Neal; nephews, Michael Rector, Kelly (Maggie) Rector, Jeffery Massengale, Kyle (Morgan) Orr, Joshua Orr, Jagger and Jensen Mix; nieces, Ashlee Neal, Brylee Neal and Jessa Mix; brother-in-law, Walter Rector and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by his step mother, Pauline Mix; brother, Steve (Clydia) Mix; sisters, Kathy Rector, Susan Gosser, Denise Dean and Crystal Neal.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Doyle’s caregivers, Diann Hitchcock, Nicha Coatie and Henry county Hospices.

Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Military Honors will be conducted by contingents from the American Legion and VFW.
