Dwight “Dean” Ford, 51, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in Henry County Hospital following a brief battle with cancer. He was born June 17, 1959 in New Castle, a son of W. Deward and Naomi (Shrout) Ford.
A 1977 graduate of Hagerstown High School, he received an Associate Degree in Manufacturing and Industrial Technology from Ivy Tech, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Anderson University, and a double Master’s in Arts in Career and Technical Education and Industrial Safety and Industrial Technology from Ball State University. Dean was invited to be a member of “Who’s Who” during his college career.
He was employed at Modernfold Industries for 20 years, and later worked for Allegheny Ludlum Corporation. He was presently employed at Ball State University.
Dean recommitted his life to the Lord on Easter of this year and became active at the South Memorial Drive Church of God and a close friend to Pastor Chris Gammello.
Survivors include his parents W. Deward and Naomi (Shrout) Ford of New Castle; a sister: Debbie (husband: Jim) Heffelfinger of Anderson; a brother: Duane (wife: Pam) Ford of Thompson Station, Tennessee; nieces & nephews: Jamie (wife: Katie) Heffelfinger and their daughter Evie of Dublin, Ireland, Joel Heffelfinger of Anderson, Jon (wife: Melissa) Heffelfinger and their son Willie of Kirklin, Indiana, Amber (husband: Rick) Branson of St. Louis, Missouri, Wesley Ford & Katelin Ford of Thompson Station, Tennessee; special friend Cathy Talbott and other close friends who spent many hours with him in his final days: Jimmy Limburg, Larry Reamer, Scott Pfenninger, Duaine Moore and Pastor Chris Gammello

Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Summit Cemetery.
