Evelyn M. Walker, 85, a resident of New Castle died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Henry County Hospital in New Castle following a brief illness. She was born October 11, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Irvin C. and Lovell A. (Bowne) Dyer.
She retired from Perfect Circle Corp. (formerly Dana) in Hagerstown in 1984 after 30 ½ years of service. Mrs. Walker was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in New Castle. She was an avid Bible reader and also enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include two sons: John Bauman of Holly, MI and James (wife: Christian) Bauman of New Castle; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Walker; a son: Chris Byrns; a brother Eugene Dyer and a sister: Nila Dyer Lee.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Dick Webster officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
