Fred D. Browning, 90, a resident of Knightstown passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. He was born November 21, 1931 in Red Boiling Springs (Milestown) Tennessee to the late Drue and Della (Jenkins) Browning.
Fred was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War as a medic. He retired from Richardson Rubber Co. in Indianapolis following over 30 years of service. Fred was a member of the Church of Christ in Greenfield. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include three sons: Ron (Kathy) Browning of Crawfordville, FL, Mike Browning of Knightstown and Mitchell Browning (Joe Harrell) of Indianapolis; four grandchildren: Ronni Lisa (Seth) Bunch of Crawfordville, FL, Jennifer (Richard) Fallon of Alpine, TX, Tony Rhodes of New Castle and Bradley (Diana) Browning of Weeki Wachee, FL; six great-grandchildren: Tommy, Ava, Barrett, Carly, Brayden and Sophie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years: Iva Rose Browning and a son: Randy Browning.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 11, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Visitation will be from 12 noon until time of the service. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville with military rites conducted by a contingent of the U.S. Army and the Knightstown American Legion Post #152.
