Geraldine (Poody) Perry, 92, of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away in Crossville, TN, February 4, 2019. She was born June 19, 1926 and raised in Dunreith, IN, the daughter of Glen and Marie (Hudelson) McDonald.
A 1944 graduate of Spiceland High School, she worked at her grandparent’s restaurant in Dunreith, IN, before she married. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Arthur E. Perry, 97, of Fairfield Glade, TN; three children, Nancy Perry, 60, of Sherman Oaks, CA, Steve Perry, 56, of Miami, FL and Doug Perry, 56, of Livermore, CA; one sister, Ruth (Robert) Pickering, 83, of Kirklin, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother of three who always put her family first; she was devoted to her family. She lived for nearly 30 years in Huber Heights, OH raising her family and retired to Palm Bay, FL, before moving to Fairfield Glade, TN in 2005. She traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada as well as Western Europe and Australia on vacation journeys with her family. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and camping, and was a member of the “Mother of Twins Club” in Huber Heights. She worked with children requiring special assistance while her own children were in school. After raising her family she worked as a waitress and other jobs. She was a lifelong member of the Faith Presbyterian Church in Huber Heights, OH.
Even though she lived elsewhere the majority of her life, she was always a Hoosier girl and favored her home town of Dunreith, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Monday, February 11, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Funeral services will follow visitation at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
