Hazel Marie Fletcher

Hazel Marie Fletcher, 92, passed away at Glen Oaks Health Campus on September 17, 2022. She was born in New Castle to the late James J. and Grace (Cochran) Hollan on April 21, 1930.
She graduated from New Castle High School in 1948. She married Hubert V. (Bud) Fletcher in 1948, and they lived in New Castle for many years. She worked for The Century Press and the Family Market in New Castle. The family moved to Greenfield in 1971, and she worked as a proofreader at the Indianapolis Star. After retiring, she worked as a church secretary for many years at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield.
Hazel is preceded in death by: her husband and parents, a brother Erville Hollan, sisters Myrtle Hollan and Anna Mae Matthews, and a grandson, Joseph Fletcher
She is survived by two children: Sharon (Thomas) Cory of New Castle and Larry (Carol) Fletcher of Ave Marie, Florida, and a brother James (Myrna) Hollan of Leesburg,Florida. Grandchildren are Erica Cory-Crabtree (Mark), Nathan (Aimee) Cory, and Grace (Patrick) Blair—all of New Castle, Laura (Daniel) Webster of Pendleton, and Matthew (Melissa) Fletcher of Leesburg. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Kyra Shafer, Gavin Cory, Alyssa and Kimberly Blair; Ellie Webster; Daisy, Dylan, and Luke Fletcher; and step great-granddaughter Kennedy Little.
Per her wishes, there will be no services. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
