Jack G. Blevins Sr., 74, of New Castle, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at The Waters of New Castle. He was born February 5, 1939 in New Castle to the late Francis and Clarice (Crabtree) Blevins.
He attended New Castle schools, was a veteran of the US Army, and retired from Chrysler Corporation. He enjoyed horses, watching westerns, football, and listening to classic country music including Elvis.
Survivors include three sons, Randy, Rick, and Jack "Rusty" Blevins Jr. all of New Castle; brother, Noel Blevins of New Castle; grandchildren, Rick Blevins II of Indianapolis, Holly Blevins-Crouch of Kentucky, Jacob Blevins of New Castle, Amanda Blevins and Kerri Anderson both of New Castle; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Charlie, Cameron, Carson and Noah; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty (Daffron) Blevins; son, Robert "Robbie" Chad Blevins; brother, Jim Blevins; and a sister, Edna (Blevins) Dobbs.
The Blevins family would like to thank the staff of The Waters of New Castle for taking such good care of Jack for the past year.
As Jack requested, there will be no public calling hours or services. In his memory, you may give memorial contributions to The Waters of New Castle, 1000 North 16th Street, New Castle, IN 47362 or envelopes are available at the funeral home.
