James D. Maze

James “Jim” Maze, 60, of New Castle passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at The Woodlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Muncie after suffering a long illness. He was born August 21, 1962 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Terrence “Terry” and Lois Marie (Brookshire) Maze.

Jim was a 1981 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country from 1981-1984. Jim lived in ALBQ, New Mexico for 25 years returning to New Castle in August 2020.

Jim was an active member of New Life City Church in ALBQ, New Mexico. He worked with he children’s ministry for years. Jim loved to go fishing and taking his family out on the water in his boat.
Jim leaves cherished memories with one sister, Teresa Marie Maze of New Castle; Daniel, Tenyha and Diane of ALBQ, New Mexico; several cousins; aunt, “Barb Maze”; Uncle Mike and “Mikie Maze” all of New Castle.

“Jim had so many special gifts, he never met a stranger. I am honored to have him as my brother.” He also had wonderful special friends whom he loved dearly, Loretta Simpson, Greg and Carol Shirley, David Horak all of ALBQ, New Mexico and Jon Manic of Texas.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am -1:00 pm with funeral starting at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Jim at www.hinsey-brown.com .
