James H. Jim Moyer

James H. “Jim” Moyer, age 68, of Noblesville, formerly of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly at his residence, Thursday, December 20, 2012. He was born September 18, 1944 in Henry County, Indiana to the late Herbert L. and Oma (Markle) Moyer.

A Spiceland native, he graduated from Spiceland High School in 1963. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle in 1999 following 34 years of service. He had also been employed at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service since 2000 where he was also staff organist. An accomplished organist since 1962, Jim had served as organist for several churches in Henry County and played at numerous weddings, funerals and a myriad of other functions. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #91. He was an avid antique lamp collector, but enjoyed all antiques.

Survivors include his wife, Jane K. Moyer of Noblesville; a son, Patrick A. (wife, Emily) Moyer of Noblesville; two grandchildren, Cameron James Moyer and Lily Ann Moyer; brother, Jerry (wife, Imogene) Tiller of Terre Haute; sister, Peggy (husband, Leon) Demary of Ft. McCoy, FL; cousin, Joseph H. (wife, Sandy) Baughn of Greenwood; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two cousins, Maurice Ray Cleveland and Martha Baughn Rogers; very close friend and cousin, Jane Solida and her husband, David.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverends Peter Zenn and Carol Wiley of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Knightstown officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the funeral home. The family of James H. Moyer will be present this evening from 4-7 p.m. for family and friends who can make it to Hinsey-Brown in New Castle for the visitation. However, the family would rather for people to not risk their safety, just stay home and keep them in your prayers, and instead visit with them from 1:00-2:00 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) prior to the service.
