Jean Marie Hoover, 88, New Castle, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born October 17, 1927 in Illinois a daughter of James and Ruby (Williams) Littrell.
Jean was a 1947 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life on February 24, 1950 in New Castle, Indiana. They raised two children together. Jean worked many years at Indiana Bell Telephone and enjoyed meeting with her Ma Bell friends monthly at various restaurants around town. She also enjoyed being outside and working in her lawn.
She is survived by a son, Steve (Susan) Hoover of New Castle; daughter, Rebecca (Jim) Robichaux of Georgetown, TX; granddaughter, Hayley Hoover of Clearwater, FL; great grandson, Everett Wright; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Hoover; three sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 12-2 PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Graveside services will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
