Joseph A "Joe" Wood

Joseph A. “Joe’ Wood, 66, of New Castle, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. He was born October 23, 1956 in New Castle, a son of the late Clarence Wood Sr., and Mary Marie (Billings) Wood.

A 1974 graduate of Chrysler High School, Joe worked at Taco Bell in New Castle for nearly 30 years. He was an active member of First Apostolic Church in New Castle his entire life. Joe never met a stranger, and would talk to anybody as he rode his bicycle and walked all over town on a daily basis. He loved fishing, playing board games and card games. He leaves a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Jana (Michael) O’Connell of New Paris, IN and Margie Wood of New Castle; three brothers, Clarence Wood, Jr., of New Castle, William Wood of Indianapolis, and James Wood of Goshen, IN; several nieces and nephews, great nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Clarence Wood Sr., and Mary Marie Wood, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., (noon) on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jeff Emmitt officiating.
