June E. Howard, 72, of New Castle, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born September 7, 1948 in Shirley, Indiana to Junior and Virginia (Van Duyn) Conley.
A 1966 graduate of Knightstown High School, she lived in Lakeland, Florida for over 30 years where she was a CNA at nursing homes and also worked for Verizon Wireless. She was a member of the Grand Avenue Baptist Church in New Castle.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Virginia Conley of New Castle; four sisters, Lynn (Larry) Jannotti of Vero Beach, FL, Margaret “Peggy” (Larry) Bash of Alexandria, Loretta (Arville) Francisco of Knightstown, and Jeanette (Clinton) Pitts of New Castle; two brothers, Roger (Teresa) Conley of Jeffersonville, and Richard Conley of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Kristi Conley of New Castle, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat, Chloe. Also, cousin and best friend, Glenda Thompson of Greenfield, and “chosen” sister Rhonda Hall of Alexandria, as well as her close friend, Patricia Mattix of Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by her father, Junior Conley, a brother, Greg Conley and a brother-in-law Michael Nash.
Services will be Monday January 11, 2021 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at 10:00 am until time of service at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service New Castle location. Burial will follow at Harlan Cemetery in Wilkinson. You may share a condolence or memory of June at www.hinsey-brown.com .
