Keith E. Haynes, 82, of New Castle passed away on June 30, 2018 at home after a brief illness. He was born February 20, 1936 in New Castle to the late Carl and Sarabell (Grover) Haynes.
A life-long resident of New Castle, he graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 1954. Keith served two years in the Army in Ft. Worth, Texas. He worked and retired from Dana Corporation. He was a member of Memorial Wesleyan Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir, performing solos and served as treasurer and secretary of the Wesleyan Men for several years. Keith’s pride and joy was spending time and making memories with his family. He was an avid reader, enjoyed watching his beloved Atlanta Braves baseball team and doing yard work.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mickey (Ocker) Haynes; daughter, Michele Haynes-Shaffer (Brad); and grandchildren Brian Shaffer and Mackenzie Shaffer.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Dennis Kinser and Pastor Dennis Hilton officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. Private burial will be at South Mound Cemetery at a later date.
