Kerry Ann Malpica, 68 of Markleville passed away at her home on Friday, June 2, 2023. She was born on July 19, 1954 in New Castle to Ralph Upchurch and Glenda (Cole) Mason.
Family first, strong Christian, caring, kind and compassionate with the heart of a servant would best describe Kerry’s personality and the way she lived life. Kerry loved helping people whether it was interpreting for others, as she was bilingual, or just putting others first anyway she could. She was a loyal hard worker, who spent 40 years as a medical assistant; the last 10 years prior to retirement was with Community Health Network in Indianapolis. Kerry was a member of the Church of God, Cleveland Assembly. She had resided in Puerto Rico for a little while and met her husband, Carmelo. They moved back to Indiana and started their family together; she absolutely loved the Hispanic culture. Kerry loved taking family vacations and road trips with her sisters. She also enjoyed cooking and was excellent at doing so.
Kerry is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Carmelo Malpica of Markleville; children, Carmela (Maurice) Williams of New Palestine, Carmelo “J.C.” (Jessica) Malpica Jr. of Liberty KY, Karissa (Troy) Parker of Markleville; mother, Glenda Mason of Mt.
