Larry O. Manning, 77, of Knightstown, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. He was born July 13, 1938 in Fleming County, Kentucky a son of Berry and Lorena (Rice) Manning.
Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Pierceton Trucking Company in 2015. He had also driven for Standard Oil Company. Larry and his father owned a timber company for many years. He was a member of the Knightstown Wesleyan Church. Larry enjoyed fishing and his dog, Casper. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon (Specht) Manning; four children, Terri Gorman (Jack Tague) of Knightstown, Berry (Julie) Manning of Spring Hill, FL, Scott (Florence) Manning of Holiday, FL, and Lisa (Terry) Helderbrand of Knightstown; seven grandchildren, Jeremy and Dustin Gorman of Knighstown, Jackie Holden of Sparta, KY, Joshua and Cory Manning of Knightstown, Amber (Ethan) Paul of Knightstown, and Morgan Helderbrand of Knightstown; nine great grandchildren; seven siblings, Melvin (Carol) Manning of New Castle, Norman Manning (Patty Bowen) of Spiceland, Sue (Don) George of Bowling Green, KY, Debbie (Randy) Black of Greenfield, Marsha (Mike) Redmon of Bradenton, FL, Dale (Carolyn) Manning of Greensboro, Don (Pat) Manning of Bradenton, FL; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Monday, April 4, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Pastors Larry Delon and Gail Whitmire officiating.
