Marilyn June Duvall

Marilyn June (Carr) Gross-Duvall, 96, of New Castle passed away Monday, March, 11, 2024 at her home. She was born June 29, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Emmett and Marie (Burke) Carr.

She attended St. Matthews, Our Lady of Angels Providence Catholic Girls School. Marilyn retired from Marsh supermarket after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge and lifetime member of the New Castle American Legion. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Gross of Knightstown and Elizabeth Simerly of New Castle; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, William “Bill” Gross, her second husband, Joe Duvall; brother, Pat Carr; daughter, Dianna Aurs; grandson, Kevin Howlett and a son in law, Robert “Bob” Simerly.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Father John Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
