Mark Ledbetter, 66, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Henry Community Health. He was born December 20, 1951 in New Castle to the late Paul B. and Naomi (Baldwin) Ledbetter.
A 1970 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School, Mark worked at Warner Gear in Muncie for 5 years and retired in 2003 from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle after 32 years of service. In his younger years, he worked for his dad at Ledbetter and Keller Mobile service station at the corner of Riley Road and State Rd. 103.
Mark’s greatest love was his family, especially his sons, wife, and grandchildren. He was a Jack-of-all trades and master of none. He was always the go-to guy when something needed fixed. He enjoyed bantering on Facebook, and was always up for a discussion.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Ledbetter of New Castle; two sons, Chris Ledbetter of New Castle, and Michael (Jackie) Ledbetter of New Castle; three grandchildren, Aeris, Annabelle, and Damien Ledbetter, special nieces and nephews (who called him Papaw), Julien, Allison, and Gabby Perdew, sisters, Sandy Williams of Fishers, Pam (John) Lane of Fishers, Shelly Vannatta of New Market, TN, and Paula (Randy) Perdew of New Castle; several nieces and nephews, and his mother-in-law, Judy McClure of New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul B. and Naomi Ledbetter.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m-1:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Denny Neal and John Lane.
