Mary K. Ferguson

Mary K. Ferguson, age 72, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born August 7, 1941 in Tateville, Kentucky, to the late William M. and Josephine (Stigall) Sullivan.

She retired from New Castle Community School System in 2002, where she served as head custodian for 24 years. She had previously been employed at RCA and Western Electric in Indianapolis. Mary enjoyed shopping and caring for her dog Carrie.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Lisa) Bennett of New Castle; two daughters, Kathryn M. (Brian) Hunt of Middletown and Mechelle J. (Warren “Tucker”) Crenshaw of TX; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, John R. (Sharon) Sullivan of Hagerstown; one nephew; several cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ferguson; a sister, Bertha Emogine Sullivan; nephew, Mike Sullivan.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Adam Henderson officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr., New Castle, IN 47362.
