Mary Gladell Huse

Mary Gladell Huse, 81, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2023 at Indiana University Health, Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was born September 5, 1942 in Mt. Summit to the late Orville Jess and Florine (Brown) Hoots.

A 1960 graduate of Lewisville High School, Mary worked at Western Electric in Indianapolis. She had also worked with Chet Piper Plumbing, One Hour Martinizing Cleaners, Bills Diner and owned several rental properties.. Mary was a Boy Scout Leader and attended Foursquare Church in New Castle. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and loved animals, often taking in stray cats. She also enjoyed traveling in her motor home.

She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Stephen Huse, whom she married on September 7, 2007; sister-in-law, Patty Hoots of Noblesville; several nieces, nephews and cousins; good friends, Carl (Shari) Breeding, Lisa (Mike) Bennett, Carolyn True and Eloise Crabtree, all of New Castle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving son, Charles “Chuck” Huse and a brother, Kenny Hoots.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 27, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Bill Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
