Matthew W. Brooks, 27, of New Castle, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, January 2, 2024 while protecting his family. He was born January 6, 1996 in Indianapolis, to Timmy C. Brooks and Kimberly (Smith) Brooks.
He was presently employed at Boars Head Provisions in New Castle. He enjoyed muscle cars, especially his Dodge Challenger, and was obsessed with keeping it cleaned and detailed. He enjoyed working out, and was an avid Hot Wheel collector since childhood. Growing up in the Foster Care System, Matthew lived many places, and had many peers during his upbringing, but one stood out to him; Hugh Hunter, a former NFL player, and foster parent, was a true positive influence in his life. Matt also had multiple different temporary foster parents who made a positive impact on his HUGE heart; each of them in different ways, as well as multiple different foster brothers and sisters. Matthew had a great sense of humor.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his fiancé, Shaina Nickelson of New Castle; son, Garrett Brown of New Castle; daughter, Macey Carman of Brownsburg; step sons, Kingston and Houston Jackson of New Castle; a brother, Jacob Hanna (Madison Williams) of New Castle; future in laws, Robert and Karen Modlin of New Castle; his best friend, Ryan Rooks of Morristown.
