Michael "Mike" H McKinney

Michael “Mike” H. McKinney, 76, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2022 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial in Muncie. He was born November 20, 1945 in Muncie, Indiana, a son of the late Paul Herschel McKinney and Ruth May (Wendell) Van Hook.

Mike was a 1963 graduate of Muncie Southside High School. He retired from Chrysler Corporation as a tool & die maker following 39 years of service and loved his job. Mike was strong headed, determined and the Patriarch of the McKinney brothers. He loved his wife and family, family dinners and the holidays. Mike especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He had a passion for motorcycle riding and casinos.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Marilyn McKinney; children, Mark McKinney, Jon (Kathy) McKinney, Mark Carty, all of New Castle, Donna (companion, Rob Tutterrow) Carty of Economy, and Anna (Daniel) White of Muncie; grandchildren, Allen McKinney of Oklahoma, David Dunham of Muncie, Carissa (Casey) Lawson of New Castle, Brooklyn (fiancé, Noah Pope) Gard of Economy; great grandchildren, Kaleb Lawson, Riley Lawson, and Baby Lauren, due in January; sister, Paula McKinney (partner, Beth) of Muncie; brothers, Pat McKinney of Muncie and Rick (Sherri) McKinney of Arizona; mother of Mike’s children, Helen Finnegan of New Castle.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by brothers, Tim and Danny McKinney; paternal grandparents, Hubert and Cleo Privett; and step mother, Betty McKinney.
