Michelle Kay Moss, 48, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Saturday, January 19th, 2019. Michelle was born October 2nd, 1970 in New Castle, Indiana. Michelle lived in St. Louis, Missouri from high school where she raised a family and lived in Missouri until she was 46 years old.
Michelle Moss was an Orthodontic Assistant as well as a server at Outback Steak House. Michelle had to take off work when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer as she battled it for the past four years. Michelle enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, traveling and living her life to the fullest. Michelle’s daughters were her whole life and she was constantly radiating joy. She had an upbeat, kind and unique soul.
She was a graduate of Holt High School in Wentzville, Missouri where she moved on to pursue an associate’s degree at Lindenwood University in Communications.
She is survived by her father, James Smith, mother, Janiece Smith, daughters, Kara Moss, Rachel Moss, aunts and uncles, Lonnie (Jeanie) DeHart, David (Sandy) Smith; cousins Angie and Jimmy Hammond,Brian and Kim DeHart, Brandon Smith and Laura Lyles; several nieces and nephews.
Michelle was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold Wray, Rachel Wray Of New Castle, Indiana, grandparents, Paul and Olene Smith; great grandmother, Jewell “Judy” Welborn.
Services will be at 11:00am Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Dr. Jerry DeHart officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery beside her great grandmother, Judy Welborn. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.
