Paul Leon Tabor

June 5, 1931 — December 14, 2023

Paul Leon Tabor, 92, went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 14, 2023. He was born on June 5, 1931 in New Castle to the late Luther and Bertha (Pelfrey) Tabor.

A devout Christian, Paul Leon showed everyone nothing but love and taught the love of God as well. He wanted nothing more than to see his family and friends saved and have a relationship with Jesus. He would always say, "you need to get right with the Lord". If you don't know Jesus, he's waiting with open arms. Paul Leon was a 68-year member of North Side Church of God where he served as Deacon, an Elder and taught Sunday school. He was such a good role model, prankster, ornery, stubborn, loving, intelligent, firm, could fix/repair anything, so versed in the Bible, loved fishing, hunting, golf, a good cook, provider, loved being with his natural and church family, and always put Jesus 1st! He was employed with Ford Motor Company for 10 years prior to retiring after 26 years with Chrysler Corporation. Paul Leon will be missed by many.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda (Bobby) Duvall of New Castle, Janet Louise (Frank) Fisher of New Castle; son, Danny (Rachel) Tabor of Bradenton, FL; daughter-in-law, Joni Tabor; 11 grandchildren, Shawn Tabor, Chad (Amy) Tabor, Zach (Emily) Tabor, Eric (Britney) Laurie, Adam (Chan) Tabor, Matthew (Paige) Tabor, Brittani (Seth) Lee, Justin Laurie, Christopher (Jerika) Clemens, Megan Clemens, Sharon (Crabtree) Hobbs; several step grandchildren; several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many brothers/sisters in law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Tabor; son, Steven Paul “Tabe Dog” Tabor; siblings, Daisy “Pal” Hicks, Mable Salyers, Margurite Kern, Louise Sloan, Barbara Crabtree, George Tabor, Edward Eden, William Harold Eden, Andrew Tabor and an infant brother at birth.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023, at North Side Church of God with Brothers Phil Brown and Elwood Evans officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 21 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
