Richard L. Peters, 90, of Knightstown passed away peacefully Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on March 7, 1925 in Henry County to the late George D. and Hazel M. (Knotts) Peters.
Richard was a farmer and also retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2001 following 38 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. He was a life long resident of Henry County. Richard was a member of the Raysville Friends Church, Masonic Lodge since 1954 and the United Auto Workers #371. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and IU Basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Melvada Peters; son, Tom Peters of Knightstown; daugther, Carol (Jerry) Gideon of Spiceland; grandson, Brad Gideon of Spiceland; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Peters, Jr.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #152 and an active duty contingent of the U.S. Navy. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
