Robert G. “Redlegs” Craft, age 84, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, August 07, 2014 at Henry County Hospital. He was born May 24, 1930 in Knightstown, Indiana to the late Julius and Isabele (Solomon) Craft.
He Retired from Chrysler Corporation following 40 years of service. He enjoyed going to church where he was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds baseball fan, and was also an IU, Colts, and Pacers fan. Robert enjoyed cars, fishing and traveling.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Clara (Lowhorn) Craft of New Castle; children from a previous marriage, David and Lisa; sibling, Gene Craft of Fortville; special nephew, Jamin Vaughn of New Castle; special great niece and nephews, Xavier, Marcus, Coltin, Lucas and Savannah Vaughn all of Rushville; special family friend, Betty Nigh of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bill, Ronnie and Jack Craft.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August, 11, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Donald Silvers and Brother David Cole officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 2-3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
