Robert Gene Johnson

Robert Gene Johnson, 94, of Knightstown passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born February 18, 1929 in Knightstown to the late Carl A. and Mary M. (Tice) Johnson.

Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church and Knightstown American Legion for many years.

Survivors include his children, Ellen Long of Knightstown, Theresa (Walt) Miller of Leesburg, Florida, Dale (Vicki) Johnson of Boynton Beach, Florida and Andy (Lori) Johnson of Dunreith; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Janet G. Johnson; brothers, Earl Johnson, Carl Johnson and Ted Johnson.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery with military honors conducted by contingents from the Knightstown American Legion and U.S. Army.
