Roberta Ann “Bertie” Ferguson, 74, a resident of New Castle passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born July 24, 1946 in New Castle to the late Robert and Minnie “Joann” (Goldy) McDaniel.
Bertie worked as a cook for the VFW and was previously employed at Best Western in New Castle. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge and was a founding member of the OWC Club. Bertie enjoyed playing BINGO, listening to country music and caring for her son, Steve. Family was very important to Bertie and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include four children: Lesa A. Agee, Brad (Amanda) Agee and Stephen E. Agee, all of New Castle and Misty (Walley) Copher of Salt Lick, Kentucky; grandchildren: Chris Copher, Shaye Byers, Josh Copher, Kylie Jones, Candi Copher, Brittney Prater, Matthew Copher, Nathan Copher, Alexa Agee and Tanner Agee; eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings: Nona Haywood ,David (Marsha) McDaniel, and Barbara Fudge, all of New Castle and Tina (Kyle) Webb of Greensfork; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, including Judy and Ed Jones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James E. Ferguson in 1984, two grandchildren: Jessica Copher and Jordon Ralstin; siblings: Terry McDaniel, Sonja Baker and Debbie Craig.
Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mike Perdue officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery in Midland, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Saturday, prior to the service.
