Ronnie W. Conner, 76, of Blountsville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at his home. He was born May 22, 1942 in Fort Wayne to the late Francis and Margaret (Shockley) Conner.
Ronnie was raised in Blountsville as a child where his family moved following WWII. He attended Blountsville School and graduated from Union High School in 1960. Ronnie retired from Delco Remy in Anderson in 1999, following 34 years of service. He was a member of Blountsville Christian Church. In his earlier years, he enjoyed camping, motorcycles, model airplanes and especially going on Sunday drives. Ronnie was known for his great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and everyone was a “friend” to him.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandy (Wildey) Conner; children, Kimberly (Gary) Coats of Winchester, Sharon (Todd) Franklin of Mooreland, Susan (Tracy) Cole of Markleville, Donnie (Delanna) Conner of Mooreland, John (Brenda) Conner of Blountsville; grandchildren, Aaron (Ashley) Franklin, Kati Franklin, Nick (Lauren) Coats, Kari (Trent) Choate, Kayla Perry, Kellyn (Christian) Reid, Taylor Marie Coats, Alexandra and Jordan Conner, Kyler and Conner Cole, Gavin Conner, Logan Conner, Micah Cole, Alicia and Taylor Jones; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Pam (Bryant) Craig of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to IU Health Ball Cancer Center and Ball Hospice for the exceptional care Ronnie received.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jerry Bowlin officiating. Burial will follow in Blountsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Monday, January 21st at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to IU Health Ball Hospice, 2401 West University Avenue, Muncie, IN 47303 or Little Red Door of Muncie, 401 W. Jackson, Muncie, IN 47305.
