Ruth Cox, 91, of New Castle, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born June 24, 1926 in New Castle, a daughter of the late C. Newell and Luta (Alexander) Frost.
A 1944 graduate of New Castle High School, Ruth was bookkeeper for Culligan Soft Water in New Castle for over 34 years. She and her husband farmed in the New Lisbon community for many years. She was a longtime member of the South Memorial Drive Church of God.
Ruth was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She dearly loved her family, which includes her children, Karen (David) Boram of New Castle, Michael (Heidi) Cox of New Lisbon, Matthew (Jo) Cox of Shirley; grandchildren, Rhonda (Scott) Paris of Fishers, Tina (Trent) Conyers of Middletown, Katie (Daniel) Kinnaird of New Castle, Drew Cox of West Lafayette, Nisha (Justin) Kokena of Shirley, Taylor (Jordan) Bearhope of Markleville, and Mackenzie (Josh) Hart of Pendleton; thirteen great grandchildren;, and a brother, Ray Frost of New Castle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Cox in 2002, and a sister, Frances Ledgerwood.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at South Memorial Drive Church of God with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2018 at South Memorial Drive Church of God. Memorial contributions may be given to Gideon’s International, P.O.
