Sharon K. Manning, 79, of Knightstown, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born July 12, 1941 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Melvin Specht and Beulah (Plank) Hollinger.
Sharon owned and operated the Knightstown Café and Pastries, Etc. Bakery in Knightstown. She had been a member of the Knightstown Wesleyan Church and was a very generous individual. Sharon enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting and shopping at Wal-Mart. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved her dog, Casper.
She is survived by four children, Terri Gorman (Jack Tague) of Knightstown, Berry (Julie) Manning of Knightstown, Scott (Florence) Manning of Holiday, FL, and Lisa (Terry) Helderbrand of Carthage; seven grandchildren, Jeremy and Dustin Gorman of Knighstown, Jackie Holden of Sparta, KY, Joshua (Kelsea) Manning of New Castle, Cory (Cierra) Manning of Connersville, Amber (Ethan) Paul of Knightstown, and Morgan (Brandon) Carrender of Rushville; sixteen great grandchildren; two brothers: Larry Specht of Dunreith and Charles “Chuck” Fox of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Larry O. Manning; and two sisters: Becky Helton & Beverly Dalton.
Graveside services for friends and family will be held at 2: 00 P.M. Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Dunreith Community Cemetery with Rev. Randy Gross officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel.
