Sherry Martin, 59, of Spiceland, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 in her home following a brief battle with cancer. She was born August 18, 1953, a daughter of Melvin and Virginia (Massengale) Brumley.
A 1971 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, she retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2008. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Matt (wife, Lisa) Hill of Spiceland; three grandchildren, Luke, Jake, and Mia Hill, all of Spiceland; one sister, Gail (husband, Jeffery) Cummings of New Castle; a brother, Randy (wife, Kelly) Brumley of New Castle; her father, Melvin Brumley of New Castle; two nieces, Cindi (husband, Bryan) Rottinghaus of New Castle and Ashley (husband, Kyle) Beavers of New Castle; two nephews, Jason (wife, Casey) Ellis of Knightstown, and Kyle Brumley of New Castle; several great nieces and nephews; her special companion of over ten years, Mark Bowling of New Castle; special friends, Paula Vaughn and Lou Neal.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Brumley in May 2012, and her grandparents.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Nathan Edwards and Bro. Phil Brown officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the funeral home.
