Shirley Marlene “Dunch” Wells, 80, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Henry Community Health. She was born March 7, 1939 in Franklin, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (Throckmorton) Tinch.
She had been employed at Wal-Mart, Harvest, Beckers and Jerrys Supermarkets in New Castle. She began her career at Monsanto Corporation in Miamisburg, Ohio. Shirley was a lifelong member of Foursquare Church in New Castle. She enjoyed country music, television, candy, candy apples and Facebook. She loved spending time with her family and her favorite cat, Zeus.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Kenneth “Tiger” Wells; 3 children, David Wells, Sherry (Jeff) Thompson and Kenna “Winnie” Roberts, all of Greenfield; sisters, Vikki Carpenter of New Castle and Judy (Joe) Takach of Middletown, Ohio; brother, Ralph (Shirley) Tinch of Miamisburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Ammi Wells, Kandice Morales, Brandon Morales, Josh Wells, Autumn Roberts, Sarah (Jake) Gorman, and Ingrid Thompson; two great grandchildren, Aliana Wells-Kirchner and Isabelle Rae Gorman; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Toni Rae Wells; brothers, Donnie Ray Tinch and Ronald L. Tinch; and a granddaughter, Kasie Ann Roberts.
Services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Foursquare Church in New Castle with Pastor Jim Becker officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2019 at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
